Wow Kath,
I'm real curious how everything settles in. Thanks for posting those images. I wasn't aware that the expanders were part of the process but it totally makes sense. My skin is still "loose" around some of the areas of major muscle atrophy.
I hope it turns out better than you expected!
Best of Luck,
Chris

Joy,
It's something how you mentioned that you needed a break from this web site every now and then since you can't escape your arm. My daughter is the one who has the injury and she can't bring herself to even look at this web site. She is thankful that I can and I gather as much helpful information that I can and relay it to her. She has herself said that she can't be consumed with her injury 24/7! It's good that you have this insite and know how to take care of your mental health! Sue

Re: it must be me
My implant is now sucking my skin my under it! Its hard to explain but right by under arm, in the crease area, my skin is going under my implant! By the end of day it hurts! I never had this happen before. (I've had an implant for 11 years now) I have an appt for Tuesday May 29th @ Mayo, thank gosh! I think the implant has shifted to the front. Great-go back in and re-screw this thing! But all this complaining still will not change my mind in having this implant.
I'll take pics.............

Re: it must be me
Hello Kath... I'm fresh to this site but not my injury. 10 years ago this week I was 16 and my God given gift and joy of playing sports was taken due to a minute error in my decision making. I recently threw away the pain medicine and got on a daily exercise routine. I've been in some dark lonely places but I believe it was meant to be in order to get to the light on the other side. I'm in pain almost always but there are too manybeautiful thing out there and within to let the physical pain and mental frustration win. I've lost much in my life but I cherish and hold that which I love and know is important. I am finally trying to make an effort and reach out to people I can relate to. I believe it is essential. We all know we are here for a reason. We have to embrace our new found views and look up.
One thing I have found to be extremely helpful is meditation. Along with the exersice I began a few months ago this new found gift has brought me much closer to the surface. And the view is much clear. I finally feel at peace. But there is still a ways to go, for everyone.
From what I gather there are people who care for you and respect you. Sometimes our thoughts wonder away from from truth. I believe if we focus on being a good person with a pure soul we will, without a doubt attract people who reflect that beauty. I hope I can make myself a good new friend...
