Unfavorable
Re: Unfavorable
I gave my lawyer the print out but I don't know if she did anything with it or if the judge had it.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

This change in the SSD Blue Book policy is very important to your case. If I were you, I would check with your lawyer and ask him/her if they brought this new policy to the judges attention.
This policy change has a date 9/15/2005 so it is new and it was after we (UBPN) were invited to the meeting regarding SSD and the Blue Book changes. It was supposed to make life easier for bpi injured to obtain SSD.
If the lawyer did not ask the lawyer to contact the judge or start and appeal based on this policy change.
Good Luck

To find your representatives go here: www.house.gov and www.senate.gov For the House of Representatives, you just put in your zip code in the box on the top left. For the Senate, go to the top right and click where it says "Find your senators. Then scroll to your state. Then click the "go" box right next to the scroll box. You have one member of the House of Representatives and two Senators. Each Member of Congress has offices that are in your state as well as in Washington. These are called district offices and they will be a local number for you to call, also, generally, they will be the correct offices to help you handle a personal issue. When you search your representatives, their websites will show up and when you click on the links, then find the "contact" part of the website that will tell you what the correct phone numbers are.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
There is NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION.

I am so sorry to hear your lawyer dropped you.
Perhaps he was not such a good lawyer since he lost... and it seems as if he is not interested in winning....
What a shame
We are all here for you and when you are rested begin your fight again... Don't give up!

Re: Unfavorable
When Brandon was little we got dropped by our attorney, I was devastated. But then we found another attorney, who was a woman, she had a step grandchild with OBPI that resolved without surgery. The moral of the story is we won our case..........and to this day 5 years later.....we still are really good friends. She has done so much for us as a family....sometimes, you are better off.....GAYLE
