HEre too, they don't have to keep "HIS" position open, but they CANNOT "terminate" either, their must be a job, any job at the same pay rate as when he got hurt, when he is ready to go back to work. In other words, if he was a truck driver and there are no truck driver positions, then, they must find him a job, even a janitor job AT THE SAME PAY RATE !!!

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Beth,
This may be a long shot... But there is a Dr. Elkwood (I believe in NJ) who has done some tremendous things for victims of a TBPI. The community of OBPI doctors is very tight - I imagine the community of specialists who treat TBPI is much the same. Maybe you could call his office, ask if you could please speak with Dr. Elkwood (or have him call you back), and tell him your situation. He probably knows who could help you in your state.
Good luck in your search. I'm so sorry your family is having to go through this - but you have found a very good place to come for support.
