Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

You really have a good grip on this injury.
My own children were surprised at the many things I could not do.
We did not speak about my injury.
They knew there were a few things I could not do like play patty cake... LOL..

When I found UBPN in 1999 was the first time I spoke about my arm since my Mom died in 1968.
I explained it to my husband when we met.
Once again before our wedding (so he would hold my elbow down in photos)>LOL.

Now I talk about it a great deal in hopes of preventing an injury or helping people take better care of themselves to avoid secondary injuries.

My life was never about my arm or lack of ability to do things.
I always thought I could do anything I put my mind to.
I just had to do things a more creative way. LOL.

Now in my old age it has given me a Mission.
Just as I thought I was winding down from volunteer work and working, I found UBPN.

Good Luck with the article
