TES and Electrodes
TES and Electrodes
Just wondering how long it takes you to remove electrodes. Tricia has been doing TES for 2 weeks and it takes me about an hour to get them off in the morning. Thanks.
Re: TES and Electrodes
About 5 seconds. I just peel the skin off away from the electrode, trying to do it in a fast motion. We use the black electrodes.....the square ones and the 4 inch long skinny ones. Then I put them on the plastic sheet that they come on and stick them in the fridge till night time. Why is it taking you an hour?
Re: TES and Electrodes
It shouldn't take too long. Is the tape you're using to hold the electrode down causing pain? Where do you place the electrodes? I eliminated tape (we've done triceps and biceps but didn't have to do shoulder) by using a self-adhering wrap and then just tacking the end with tape...but it doesn't touch Elizabeth's skin. When we did use tape right on her skin it was a horrible experience.
Do you use tac gel?

Re: TES and Electrodes
we also eliminated tape by using a tight undershirt that acts as a slight compression shirt and we use TAC GEL.
Is it the hair that's causing the problem Cori? I wonder if using some Nair for sensitive skin might help if this is the issue? (or shaving)
hope things get easier for you soon,

Re: TES and Electrodes
Thanks for your ideas. The first couple of days we did the TES we had to hold her down, when the electrodes are taken off slowly she at least sits still. If we peel them off quickly her skin turns bright red - almost like a layer of skin has come off. It is awful.
Our Tac Gel just came in the mail today and I can't wait to try it. Sophia at Mayatek also suggested putting some antiperspirant on the skin before applying the elctrodes and this seems to help.
