Lydocaine infusion for pain

Post by Brandon_3 »

I have been having them done for about 6 months now. My pain management doctor recomended them and I have had 4 of them so far 500ml/hr for an hour. And get relief for about 4-5 weeks for my base level pain. Is anyone else haveing or have had them done. Or am I the only one. I have the Harvard study results and other information if anyone is interested. I hadn't heard of them before so I wanted to make sure I knew if they helped or not before I posted anything about them.

Brandon,
I tried Lydocaine infusion twice to no avail. One pain specialist told me it wouldn't work for the severity of my injury (3 avulsions) and another figured it was worth a try. I'm glad you find it useful. Next time you get one done, could you please ask the doctor what area specifically is he/she attempting to affect (sympathetic nerve cord or one of you existing Brachial Plexus nerves).

Best of Luck,
Chris

I would like more information regarding research using this technique. One doctor tried using spinal nerve blocks. Sam got relief from the pain but it only last for about 45 minutes. I've suspected it was from the analgesic. Please contact me on my email @ spinkydee@yahoo.com so that I can find out more. Thanks, Michele
