Shoulder Replacement Surgery?

Post by Bekki »

I am a 38 yr living with BPI since birth. My parents didn't know what was wrong with me and never had anything done to help me early on. Anyway my right shoulder has really deteriorated in the last year, and is really causing me severe pain. I have a huge bone spur and arthritis. My doctor referred me to a Orthopedic surgeon to see about a shoulder replacement. Is this something that anyone has had done?

Bekki,

I don't know anything about shoulder replacements myself. But a few weeks ago someone posted that they had surgery with this doctor with good results and when I looked him up I saw that he did shoulder replacement surgery. Just thought I'd pass this link to you so that you might be able to get another opinion if you want.

Thanks for the link.
I am in TN and it seems there are no brachial plexus specialists in my area. I'm very leary on having shoulder replacement surgery unless it is someone who is familiar with BPI. After finding this site and all this info I would love to be able to see Dr. Nath in Texas. Though considering the distance and the expense I don't think will happen.
