Glad to hear you are doing well! My mom has a PICC line too and she has learned how to deal with her meds by herself (finally). She has a home care nurse that come every day to chnage her dressing too.

Re: update on Courtney
Courtney,
Caralyn has been keeping me updated on how you are doing, she has been so worried about you. I told her that you are an incredibly strong person and that you were going to come out of this even stronger and look you got a new car All kidding aside, I can't tell you how sorry we are that it didn't work out. You are and always will be in our prayers.

- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Courtney,
I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this, I can't imagine how difficult it must be to go through all that surgery and walk away worse than empty handed. This might seem ludicrous, but did they mention the possibility of using the other gracilus? Or is that insult to injury? You're probably feeling a bit shell shocked toward the possibility of ever setting foot in another operating room, I know I would be. I just hate the idea of you going through all of this and not coming out better. I wish I had an answer! Typical male response of wanting to fix the situation, sorry. Anyway, you are in my thoughts and I hope this mountain has a beautiful view from up top! Be well and much love!

Re: update on Courtney
They will not talk more surgeries with me for 6 months... initially I was NOT interested in more... this am I woke up wondering about something for surgery... Jeff laughed and said give it time!!
No more gracilis... the artery in my arm was SHOT TO HELL by the infection, which is why they had to take the muscle out, the infection ate the artery which cut off the blood supply to the muscle, the docs cut the muscle open on the third surgery and it didnt even bleed!! So that was when they took it out!!
Something good will come of this... Im not done fighting... not yet!!!
