Oh dear, Courtney. That's not great, is it? Hopefully they'll be able to get it under control PDQ. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Courtney, Sounds like you need some heavy duty antibiotics. Hopefully you can take them orally and get back home. If you are still in Mayo on the 5th, Mel and I will be coming and staying at the usual Kahler Inn. She has follow up appts. on the 6th and 7th. Give her a ring if you're still there! Sue

Good Luck Court!
Even if it requires IV antibiotics you can be taught how to do it yourself at home, with follow up care with visiting nurses. My mom has that now. She is on IV meds (through a PICC line) for 6 weeks.. again!
Keep us informed!

Court, we're all pulling for you to get through this quickly. What a bummer to have to go back just three days after getting home. But I'm glad the Mayo team wanted to see you themselves rather than having a local doctor check it out. Please keep us posted asap.

Take care,

Ellen

Hello everyone....Court's mom...Tuesday pm....the drs saw her and decided to do some more surgery on that arm and "flush" it out...they're hoping it's liquification of fat which is very common but hers came all at once and wasn't able to be absorbed by her body...so they had to enlarge the incision a bit last night and then then they left it open...she called this am and said the drs were just in and they were hoping to shoot for closing this afternoon but when I called Jeff they were taking her just then @ 10:30...they called him and said that she was done but they didn't close it as it was too swollen....possibly a couple more days...thx for your prayers and thoughts...we need them to keep coming...my heart aches for her, especially that I can't be there but glad that Jeff is...just got back from picking up some fun things for her and jeff and am running to the post office to overnight them...thank God for good bosses...this is so hard for her....just wanted to give you an update.....she's strong and comes from good stock so that's on her side!
