Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Tanya
I am enjoying our lack of snow this year so far.
I live south of you in the Lower Hudson Valley and snow is part of our life all winter ... When NYC gets rain we get snow. I don't miss it and I only want a few inches before and after Christmas. Only a dusting so I can drive around without snow plows... LOL...

It has been so warm that the leaves refused to fall and we had some leaves on our trees last week... LOL..

Enjoy the snow but anyone who wants can send me some warm weather...

I find it weird too that we here in Quebec have NO SNOW YET! Thought yesterday we had freezing rain that coated the trees and grass and everything looked like icecles (sp?). It was neat but freezing cold! I would rather snow than that rain.
Today it is really sunny and only -1 C. It is supposed to snow this afternoon and tomorrow.

No snow in Ohio yet either and we usually get dumped on here on the edge of the 'snow belt'.

Don't you just love snow days? It is a rare gift -- the gift of time and it is to be savored. It sounds like you moms are doing just that and having a great time with your kids. Enjoy.

Toss a few snowballs with the bpi arm -- we can call it snow therapy.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Lori,
A suggestion-- Bring a pie plate or bucket of snow inside for your little Guy and spread a sheet of plastic on the floor and let him touch and play with snow in small bunches on his Unaffected non-BPI side, supervised of course. Snow play in the sinks are good too. My Scott hated to get cold & wet outside so that's what I did in those cold Philadelpia winters. He never has enjoyed the snow play outside still to this day hates the snow...it's a Sensory Intergration thing! I was the 1 who enjoyed playing with the snow in sinks & on the kitchen floor...LOL! I froze snowballs every year...

HUGS all around, :)
