Ballet Classes
Ballet Classes
My daughter is 3 years old and we have started ballet classes because her therapist suggested it to help Allie use her left arm (alternative therapy). I teach and have a planning period the last hour of the day. My assistant principal made a comment about me leaving 15 minutes early in order for me to pick my child up and get her to class on time because I already leave one day a week the last hour of the day to take her to therapy which is 1 hour 15 minutes away. Has anyone had a problem with this and how did you handle it?

Re: Ballet Classes
It sounds to me like your assistant principal and you (or whoever your immediate supervisor really is) need to sit down and have a good old one on one adult conversation about this and maybe get this all written down and clarified. You are bound by your job, but most supervisors are willing to make accommodations as needed for a great employee when it is feasible and reasonable. Just bring the topic up and discuss it.
