Re: Alabama
Hey Sharlon. I live in Leeds, which is about 15 miles east of Birmingham. What Neurologist do you use? What is your childs situation? My son was is now 4 1/2, he has had therapy for the first year and has had no surgeries. The reason that he is not in therapy anymore is because my husbands work changed insurance companies and the new insurance company did'nt want to cover therapy. My sons therapist said she was getting to release him anyways. I am just wondering if you have any information on some good doctors in the area.

Re: Alabama
Hi Marnie,
Annah will be 3 in July. She was born weighing in at 10 lbs. 15 oz. Forceps delivery, not very healthy for either of us, broken rt. clavicle and erbs palsy. We were in the dark for the first few months, then I began to research the injury and we got her into see a neurologist at Children's in Bham. and also got therapy for her. She is now about 90 to 95% back to her normal range and we have been dismissed from therapy until she is older, the doc tells us to let her everyday activity to be her therapy for awhile, so we are. She still has winging and some weakness in her lower rt. arm, but it doesn't seem to bother her or slow her down.LOL she is full steam ahead, and very independent. She is doing much better than we would have ever expected, the doctor told us at first, that she would probally never have much use of her arm, so we are truly blessed!!!!!

Re: Alabama
That's great that she is doing so well. What neurologist do you see at Children's? I have made an appointment with Richard Meyer, he is a BP orthopedic specialist at UAB Kirklin clinic. When are you suppose to take your daughter back to be checked again?
