visual perception problems
Has anyone had their child evaluated and found they have visual perception problems? How is this related to the bpi? Thank you,

Re: visual perception problems
Hello,
My son who is three was diagnosed with this by his OT. We then took him to a neurologist for further testing. The neurologist told me that it is not related to BPI but can be related to a lack of oxygen at birth. My son lost oxygen for over four minutes. It is very hard to diagnose this and my son's neurologist did not feel he has this. He disagreed with my son's therapists.

Re: visual perception problems
Visual perception problem is where they cant see what u see normally. They see things sideways or backwards. This is different than dyslexia, but people with dylexia can have visual perception problems.

Re: visual perception problems
Visual perception problem can also be thing like being unable to follow patterns or draw designs or track things as they actually are. I hae children in my classes who struggle with this- OT can usuakky mae a huge difference. It is tested by having children draw and build and copy forms and designs. it can have a big affect on learning to write and read.
