Here is a downloadable version of the PBS program "Miracle Cell" that has interviews with Prof. Geoffrey Raisman (who is the Stem Cell researcher in London that is conducting the U.K.'s first Stem Cell Clinical Trials and performing them on TBPI patients later this year). This video came out back in April of 2003, but it demonstrates the same science that will be applied this fall on TBPI's in London. Rat's are shown that have clinically induced BPI's that have incredible return of function from limb paralysis after Stem Cell treatment.
The video is 142 MB in size, so it may only be worth viewing if you have high speed internet access and capable memory. I'm going to try and make it a streaming video that would allow anyone to view it without having to download it. But I can't promise anything, considering that I thought I would have had this available over a year ago...

-dominant side C5, C6, & C7 avulsed. C8 & T1 stretched & crushed
BPI Related Surgeries:
-2 Intercostal nerves grafted to Biceps muscle,
-Free-Gracilis muscle transfer to Biceps Region innervated with 2 Intercostal nerves grafts.
-2 Sural nerves harvested from both Calves for nerve grafting.
-Partial Ulnar nerve grafted to Long Triceps.
-Uninjured C7 Hemi-Contralateral cross-over to Deltoid muscle.
-Wrist flexor tendon transfer to middle, ring, & pinky finger extensors.
