my daughter Isabelle age 4 1/2 will be having the triangle tilt in October she will be 5 yrs old. Anyone with a child close in age that has done this with any advise would be much appreciated. This is her 4th surgery but the last one was @ 18 mo. At this age I susspect it is a whole new ball game!! Also I want to say hello to everyone again. It has been a few years since I last logged on I confess. But I know where to turn for the best advise.
Thank you
Ashley

I know just how you feel! My daughter had 3 surgeries as a baby, her last one when she was 13 months. Then not again untill 5. I was so worried because I thought she would actually remember now that she was older. She did great! We were still at TCH back then and they were so great. They let her pick her own flavor for the "sleepy Mask" She picked bubble gum, and the smell of it still makes her gag! This time I'm gonna ask if I can get put to sleep with a chocolate flavored mask HaHa! They also explained that her body was thirsty so when she woke up she would have a "straw" in her arm (the IV) It is very different then an infant for sure. Also they realize now how long the weeks are in that splint. Mine had a ton of questions about why she had this and her friends didn't. I always remained positive (and turned my head to cry) I wish I could give you some magic advice, but I just don't have any. I haven't been on this board in years either, and now my daughter is scheduled for the triangle tilt in June. She is 7 now, and I find myself lost again! Best of luck to you, and I hope everything goes o.k.
