Tomorrow- WA PEOPLE

Post by PeggyF »

Hey everyone!

I wondered why no one answered my emails (I sent out on the distribution list...apparently it isn't working--I'll try to figure out why later...)

Tomorrow afternoon, Saltwater Park, from 2:30pm until we call it good (or 9:00pm --which ever comes first).

I may be a bit late because Joel has a baseball game here in Belfair at noon (and they've been lasting 2 hours).

We need to paper plates/cups and drinks brought--or everyone can bring their own? I'll bring napkins and plastic utensils--plus the meat and cheese tray.

If someone wants to bring the paper plates/cups, that would be great!
Also, if anyone wants to bring a variety of beverages--that would be great, too! Post here or email me directly. I'm leaving shortly for several hours, but will check in when I get back.
Thanks!

See y'all tomorrow :o)

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

Thanks, Courtney, for posting this for me... we had a great day. We missed some people...Brandon, for one! Chris--what happened to you man? Did you go to a different park?
Brenda and family???
Suzy?

I don't know where y'all ended up or if you couldn't make it. I thought while I was driving that I should have sent out an email with my cell number on it; that probably would have been a good idea, huh?

It was a fun, nice and sunny day, but it started way too early for me (3:30am), so I am going to call it a night.

We had a sort of mishap at the very end of it all; I'll let Julia post about it if she wants to. It's all worked out now (I think) but suffice it to say we had a BIG surprise -- and not a good one-- when we went to pick up Julia's car (she road with me from Gorst).

July we will be gathering again and Julia will be in charge of this one, so it should be more organized and organized much sooner :o) I'm just going in too many different directions with both ends burning too often.

Julia is fine. Okay, I can't help it, Julia... I'm going to spill the beans:

I had Julia meet me in what use to be a park and ride at a church in Gorst. Well, it no longer is, and her car got towed to Silverdale.
We called, went there and did all the darn paperwork that needed to be done and finally paid to get it out. There were signs posted, but we were in such a hurry to get to the potluck that we didn't even notice them until we got back and Julia's car was no longer there--no cars were there.

BUT, Julia did get her car back and she is okay.

Thanks Peggy,

I was worried it has gotten broken into or/and damaged.

Peggy and Julia:

Thanks for arranging the picnic yesterday. It worked out very well.

Special thanks to Dale, Marg, and Anna for sharing the pulled pork and Anna's birthday cake. Both were delicious.

Julia: Sorry for the surprise tow. At least it wasn't stolen or something.

Agreed! SPECIAL THANKS to Dale for cooking that deliscious pork to make the pulled pork sandwhiches and Marg for bringing the terrific birthday cake!
Thanks to everyone for coming and bringing stuff. There was more than enough food and it was all deliscious!
It was nice to meet the new folks and see old friends.
HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY to ANNA on Tuesday. I have a full week infront of me, so I may not be on much.
Also, good luck to the Kieffers as they travel for Bailey's surgery tomorrow.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
