New BP specialist list

I really like the fact that a doctor research list has been added to this site. I know it is a work in progress, but I am suprised how sparse the United States List is. Dr. Terzis who is a renowned specialist did not make first round.

I would also like to add that Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago has a monthly BP clinic.

I think that surgery places would be good for the short list if UPBN feels uncomfortable mentioning all hospitals for surgery, but I don't see why an expanded list of regional specialisst for evaluation purposes can't be added. I cannot vouch for surgery at Children's, but it certainly is a good place to go for an evaluation.

Personally I would put a disclaimer up stating that the directory is just a guide and that all decisions are the parents and that UBPN is not recommending doctors. I would reiterate to all parents to get more than one opinion.

From what I understand the doctors that are not listed may not have sent the survey back. Or may desire not to be included. If there is a BPI doc you know of that is not listed you can send the name and info to UBPN...kathleen@ubpn.org

Dr. Terzis was contacted and has not yet sent in a response. Only doctors who have responded are listed. As Kristie said, this is a work in progress and will continue to be updated. In fact, I put up a new update just yesterday adding in two more doctor's responses.

The front page explains clearly the methodology and the survey's include each respondent's own words, unedited except for any inadvertent grammar and spelling mistakes.
