Why does supination take so long?

Why does supination take so long?

No one can answer this for me ...so I ask the people who always know! Thanks everyone in advance.

It's my understanding that the bicep is the strongest supinator. So if you child had a nerve graft/transfer surgery it takes about 2 years for the nerves to fully grow/regenerate down from the neck. The nerves grow from the shoulder and then down through the bicep.

My daughter is 1 1/2 post op from a primary and last week she just started getting great supination for the first time. We are very excited!!

Another thing is if the humeral head is in the correct position. The bicep tendon attaches to the humeral head and if that is not in the correct position then supination will be very difficult to get.
