Hi I'm the wife of a TBPI, my husband suffered the injury about 5 years ago, from a lady who decided one lane wasn't enough for her... she smaked my hubby head on while he was on my motorcycle. I too am always looking for anything that will help my best friend not suffer so much anymore. Glad to know youre here. BTW (What's a LURKER?????)

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: January 1980 Yamaha RD200 vs 16 wheeler truck, result, 1 totally paralysed right arm. I was 21, now 54. I had no surgery, I don't regret this. Decided to totally ignore limitations (easily done aged 21) adapted very quickly to one handed life, got married, had 3 kids, worked- the effect of the injury on my life (once the pain stopped being constant) was minimal and now, aged 54, I very rarely even think of it, unless I bash it or it gets cold, then I wish I'd had it amputated :) Except for a steering knob on my car, I have no adaptations to help with life, mainly because I honestly don't think of myself as disabled and the only thing I can't do is peel potatoes, which is definitely a good thing.

Hi Dulcet1pms (interesting name!)
A lurker is someone who reads here but doesn't post messages, there are lots more people reading here than posting messages at any time.
Whereabouts are you? It would be nice to know where you are for the next time I count up all the names and where everyone is :0) Either way, welcome aboard.

Hi Jen, I am in Arizona. My hubby Crashed my Motorcycle in California though. Wish I'd found the website about 5 years ago... My hubby gave me the "Dulcet" name, because he likes my singing, and the PMS letters are unfortunately my initials. When we met (my husband and I) I mentioned that it would be my luck to marry someone that had a last name that began with "S" because then my initials would be.... P.M.S. It's ok, you can laugh, I did... guess I sealed my fate lol
