Parents Conference in July

Post by Natalee »

Hi everyone! I spoke with a rep from the Mayatek co. about our TES machine (still having problems). Anyway, she wanted me to post some info of possible interest to you all. There will be a conference given by Dr. Karen Pape (who developed and studies the importance of the TES machine with a bpi) July 27th and 28th in San Antonio, TX. For all you Texans out there, it would be wonderful to be able to go.
The location is at the Doubletree Hotel, 37 Northeast Loop 410. For details on the cost, alternative hotels in the area, and tourist activities (an awesome place to visit anyway!) you can call 1-800-351-0016. And there is a number for discounted rates, 1-800-535-1980, and ask for the Mayatek rate. We are thinking about going since we are having so much trouble with our machine (honestly, this is sad to say but out of 7 months or more of therapy, I think we have had maybe only 300-350 hours!). And we were planning to go there this spring on vacation anyway and may just put it off until July. If anyone decides to go, let me know so we can all meet up. Take care... Natalie

Natalie - what kind of problems are you having with the machine? We've identified many ways in which the machine could fail...wanna share what's going on and maybe we can help?

A word of caution for anyone dealing with Mayatek or considering it. We have been trying for over FOUR months to get replacement electrodes and a replacement wire. I have made numerous calls and the therapist has even refaxed the order form to them. They keep moving from one location to another. They have had a few different locations in VT, then in Canada, and now in TX. I don't know what's going on with them and am very frustrated at the poor level of service that we're receiving from them. Apparently, they finally found a check that our insurance co. sent them over 2 months ago and someone with Mayatek in some country cashed the check, but they still haven't been able to track it down to get the order to us -- even though like I said the OT refaxed the order anyway. I don't like to publicly talk like this about a company, but I feel that you all need to know. If you're using a TES machine from Mayatek, you'd better order plenty of extra supplies b/c it could take 6 months to get them.

Tina -have you called directly down to the TExas office? Here's the scooop. Mayatek was sold - the new company is now in Texas. I think that the phone number on the site is now the Texas number. If you are continuing to have problems try contacting Wing Lam at tascnetwork wslam@tascnetwork.net - maybe she can figure something out for you. I hope so. We need more electrodes ourselves and have to place an order soon.
