Hello, my son Parker had Mod-quad surgery at texas childerns when he was 1 1/2yr.old.(he is 5 1/2 now). We did post therepy and sent 3mth video to them, talk through my therepists, everything. One year ago i find out he didn't have MOD-QUOD, so i called up lisa left a thousand messages. NOT ONE CALL BACK. I remember when we finally arrived in Texas DR.Nath said he should have had the first surg.(neve graf) so he might not be a canidate for the MOD QUOD( after we came all the way from Tennessee) but, we can still try. At this point i am so scared, sad, mad out of it(while we were in Texas). But still i can not even get a phone call regarding my son, we have met with an ortho- surgon, we have had yet another EMG because the papers i have reg:parkers surgery, do not say much about what HE HAD DONE THERE IN TCH. I am afraid that we are being treated differently because we have Tenncare insurance and not Bluecross or something!!!
This doctor (ORTHO) needs to know how much muscle stregnth parker has in his tri & bi. He might be a canidate for this surgery. He could be able to OPEN his ARMS (Y).Thanks for letting me vent please help if theres anyone who knows who or how to talk to A PERSON TELL MEEE . PM

Parkers mom, you should get a copy of the op report and see exactly what was done... this is something you are entitled to by law... its your report. THis might help. As far as someone to talk to Im stuck there... I willl say be cautious about slaming any one doctor on here a syou dont want your post removed... hopefully someone can help.

Don't get me wrong i am not slamming anyone. I just want a call back, some info i am intitled too. And yea i am MAD, i feel they sent us home and forgot about us.

You need to call Texas Children's Hospital and get a copy of your medical records. Dr. Shenaq will not have them, as he is no longer associated with the Clinic at TCH. Dr. Nath will also not have them, as he is also no longer associated with TCH. Which doctor did your son's surgery? Nath or Shenaq? Since they are both out on their own, you should contact the one who did the surgery. However, you should probably wait until you have your copy of the surgical report, so you can send a copy of it to the doctor who did the surgery and be able to ask specific questions.

Also, the new doctor you are going to will be able to gain insight into what was done for your son during that surgery.

Thats what i am saying, I CALL NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING I LEAVE MESSAGE FOR SOMEONE WHO SUPPOSEDLY DOES TO CALL US BACK. NEVER GET A CALL. How can i get the report. DR. NATH DID SURGERY. It says 'null' because you aren't logged in. Depending on how you have your computer set up, you may need to log in every time you come to the message boards.

As Claudia said, you will need to contact TCH directly for a copy of your medical records. Dr. Nath, since he left TCH to start a practice of his own, won't have the records. This is common for any doctor who leaves an institution to start a practice on their own. The records stay at the hospital.

And I just want to add that I understand your frustration. Those of us who are adult OBPI's have found it very difficult to get medical records from our youth.

We've learned that it is a good idea to always request a copy of medical records following any surgery to keep in your files at home. You have a right to them and your children will thank you when they are older.

I understand your frustration, but, the TCH Brachial Plexus Team disbanned about a year or maybe fifteen months ago. I left a message too, before I knew this and TCH took the message like they were still together and everything was hunky dory......no return call, then I came on here and found out that Dr. Nath and Dr. Shenaq were no longer at TCH and understood....www.drnathbrachialplexus.com. Here is Dr Nath's website, where you can find all the contact info that you need. We still work very closely with Dr Nath. He has returned my phone calls personally within 24hrs of calling. If you call speak with Brenda or Vanessa, that is who we have been working with the most and get alot of help.

Good luck, your fustration is warranted, it's very difficult when you feel there is no support from the people who did work on your child.
