- Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.
My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!
I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

Re: Anyone with Lower Back Problems?
I was happy to see more postings on the Lower Back Pain Subject I brought up a few months ago. I just wanted to give an update on the problems with my legs. The Endocrinologist didn't find any Hormonal or Metabolic explanation for my two leg fractures. Both legs have healed, although I still have some pain in them, & I'm slowly trying to get more exercise to strengthen them. It's a total mystery to me why these fractures happened in the first place. Both my Orthopedic Doctor & the Endocrinologist told me that I was just "unlucky". (How's that for a diagnosis?) I've decided not to pursue the problem any further, unless I have more trouble with my legs. As far as the back pain, I still have it & at times it can be excruciating. I was so happy to get rid of the "boot" on my left leg; it obviously caused me to walk differently & made my back much worse. I'm hoping that once I start getting more exercise, my back pain will lessen. Thanks to everybody for their responses.

Re: Anyone with Lower Back Problems?
Hi
Just for information, I was in so much pain with back and pelvis area that I would give anything to sort the problem, I was in my mid thirties. I advise you to seriously consider a chiropractor, I have a great relationship with my back and pelvis and this has only come about by truly understanding my condition and periododic chiro manipulations 4-5 times per year. Just one tip make sure you find one that is local to you, travelling miles will not help the effectivness of your treatment. At a later stage you might consider taking up pilates as a form of body and muscle correction.

Re: Anyone with Lower Back Problems?
Hi there. Welcome from one newbie to another. I have bad back problems from my skull on down. I've had all the xrays and scans and gotten the usual dx's ( herniated discs, degenerated discs, arthritis, sprains, strains, sciatica, breasts too large, weigh too much, ect.) Traction helped for a short period of time. A few years ago I had a piece of exercise equip similar to a "Body by Jake" ab machine that really did seem to help the lower part of my back also. I'm searching Ebay for another one to try it again. I'm 45 and Lobp by the way. Vicodin helps some, but I really don't want to live the rest of my life on pain killers. I'm convinced the "dead weight" of my bad arm hanging and putting preassure on my spine for so many years is what caused the spine to become such a mess. That's just my theory though. Good luck!
