Residence Inn-Houston
Residence Inn-Houston
I noticed on Dr. Nath's site that his patients can get a special rate at the Residence Inn. This was always our hotel of choice when Natalie was younger, but when we were there a few years ago, it seemed to have really gone downhill. I'm wondering if anyone has been there lately and what was your impression? We've used Crowne Plaza the last few visits, but I'd love to hear if there's somewhere great I might not know about.

Crowne is now closed. I've heard good and bad about Residence Inn, just like the others. If I were you, I'd make a reservation there and at another one and cancel the one you aren't going to use before the allotted time (if they let you cancel that same day without penalty). That way you'll be covered just in case.

We recently (last week) stayed in the Holiday Inn (behind the Crowne) and it was fine. Some friends stayed in the Residence Inn during the same week and they were very happy, too.
I know that that doesn't really help!

The Marriott is nice. You get a discount there too. Its right across the street from the Methodist hospital and TCH. They have vans and cars that take ppl places in the medical center area for free. They will also hold your luggage in a holding room when and if you have to come back to the hotel from the hospital. They also have restaurants in it. They were all very courteous to us. A little more pricey than the others but very nice service.

We had really good luck at the Hampton Inn & Suites (on Old Spanish Trail at Medical Center) and they treated us very well. Their shuttle service took us to all our appointments, hospital, and even Target. They have good prices, continental breakfast, and a Luby's (??) next door.

I'm sorry. I guess the Crowne is still open. There was a post here a while ago that said that the Crowne was closing down for construction.

We just stayed at the Houston Residence Inn this december when Briana had the mod quad with Dr. Nath. They offer a discount on a regular style room...we traveled with our whole family and asked for a medical rate on the bigger room. It had a loft and full bath upstairs and a bedroom and bath downstairs as well as a living room with FP and kitchen. They gave it to us for $96 a night. It was alright on the cleanliness. They have a breakfast buffet included every morning with lots of food and they also offer a dinner type snack mon-thur nights around 5-7 or so. They have shuttle service and Dr. Naths office will get you a taxi for his appointment if you need one.
I hope this helps...Jill
