insurance coverage for Mod Quad

Post by ekurian »

Hi,

Is there anyone out there who had problems with insurance coverage for Mod Quad?My 10 month old needs the surgery but insurance is a problem.Does anyone have Aetna PPO? I can use any helpful tips you can offer to negotiate with them. I would like to get it done at houston with Dr. Nath.
Thanks in advance for your help!!

Aetna has paid for all of my child's surgeries. Of course the plans are all different now and mine was not a PPO, it was an HMO. Ask for a case manager. You have every right to choose a doctor who has a high level of experience the way Dr. Nath does.

You will have to be very assertive and give them as much information as possible (even though they have it all) they will want to know why your son needs it and why you have to go to Houston for it. Have Dr. Nath write up a letter of medical necessity and information about your son's diagnosis, etc. You can get a lot of information off of Dr. Nath's website http://www.drnathbrachialplexus.com

Good luck with this.
