Louise, I wrote a post to apologize for misreading someone else's post. Neither of my posts are attacking posts. But I do feel that I have been attacked in how she answered both of my posts.

I am a guest for legal reasons so why is that being questioned? I didn't come on to attack, I came on to explain. I'm sorry that you felt my posts were attacking. It's obvious that it's easy for the intentions of posts and the posts themselves to be easily misread. Unfortunately, that is the nature of internet communications. You don't get to hear my tone of voice when I'm posting and you don't get to have a normal conversation in here.

It was not my intention to instigiate anything and that is why I apologized in my second post.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

about this topic . You can sign up under any name and there is no way for them ( the dark side ) to know who you are if you hide your email address. Cmon guest people. Quit starting trouble and either post your screen name or please keep your thoughts to yourself. However with the Krista incident it sounded as if it came out of Dr. Naths office. But Krista I dont think she meant to attack you but rather just give advice. NO surgeon should schedule a surgery without seeing the child in person or Parent for that matter.

Thanks Louise for putting it so nice

I understand if the poster didn't "mean" to attack me, but like this poster, I wasn't even giving advice or opinion...I was stating fact. I think that guest poster hid b/c of the subject in her post to me, but that is my opinion. I am one who does not believe in guest posting unless it is for legal reasons or maybe even something that is embarrassing. I clearly remember some big problems here with guest postings in the past and hopefully it will not continue. If you cannot stand near your name, don't post at all. Stop hiding behind another.

I think we all need to stop. What bothers me is when a guest poster does post and says something that we don't like and then it gets personal. Between two or three posters who continue to go back and forth. (Without the guest poster being involved anymore) If you don't agree with things that are being said, ignore them, like I try to do. If what is being said, doesn't affect my family or my son, I leave it alone. there are times that I could've started a big confrontation but didn't. I look at it like this, I know only a few people on this board on a personal basis. Life takes us all different directions....so two years down the road I meet someone that posts here.....I really like them, but they remember something nasty I posted here.....so they do not want to continue corresponding with me.....that would make me really upset. I think alot of us "Hide" behind our names, not all of us use our names...I don't use Gayle(mom of Brandon) just because when I started coming on this board we were still in litigation. I didn't want trouble. I used several screen names...non of which really stated who I was...... Now I am Brandon's mom....our lawsuit is settled so I could care less if people know who I am ......I hide my e-mail because I feel it is a privacy issue for my child (besides, I have a wacky x-husband)I think we all tend to defend our doctors.....we should like our doctors.....it just seems like some are more under the microscope more than others and quite frankly I cannot blame those doctors for being on the defensive. My opinion here.....any doctor that does surgery on BPI's is doing a wonderful thing. They find themselves under scrutiny for fixing things that another screwed up. I think this says alot for the BPI doctors in the world. Let's just try to get along and not contribute to posts that aren't quite what we want them to be .....Gayle mom of Brandon ROBPI ! Have a GREAT WEEKEND !!!!

I personally can't stand it when people hide behind a guest post. There are times when it is obvious to use a guest post because of legal reasons but there are other times when a guest is posting as a guest without any legal reason - like in response to the doctor evaluations thread. You could clearly sign your name to your post there and it would have absolutely NO repurcussions on your lawsuit. I am happy that UBPN has gotten stricter with their guest posts policy recently, but I'd even like to see a stricter policy - like if the post is not asking or answering a legitimate question or one that they can't reveal their identity for because of legal implications, then it doesn't get posted. I don't care what kind of lawsuit you were involved in, if the guest in the latest round of guest posts had signed their name, it certainly wouldn't have hampered their case in the least!

Jessicasmom,
When I was in litigation, I did not use my name ever, because believe me, they can turn everything around it and use it against you. But you said it, there is no reason why the poster in that context could not have used their name or even a better name than guest.....come on lets get creative !!! GAYLE
