Need help badly

hello my name is Chrissy and i am a 23 year old with lobpi. I always knew that i was different and by the time i was about 8 i had finally asked my parents when i was born and until about 6 months ago i was always told that it was my fault and that if i would use it it would get better LIARS! sorry venting anyways i have found a surgeon that has agreed to do some surgeries for me the problem is being a single mom i dont have the resources to pay the 40% that my insurance wont pay if anyone has any suggestions on how i can get this much needed funding please let me know. I would like to help the pain if i can and be able to play with my sone like the rest of the mothers that i know.

Chrissy, I suggest you talk directly with the surgeon and ask for financial help regarding your surgery. Explain that you are a single mom... discuss your financial needs and ask him/her for help with this difference. Tell him/her why you want the surgery -what your background is - why it's important to you. I have learned over the years that you need to ask for what you need and to not be embarrassed by it. But go to the surgeon directly - don't ask his staff. If he can't pardon the full amount then ask for a monthly payment plan and make it really low - something that's actually doable... even if it's $5 a month.

Chrissy,I agree with the Guest poster go directly to the surgeon. 14 years ago, I was a single mom and was on medicaid. My son needed his tonsils out but it was "ELECTIVE" as they liked to call it. I could not find a doctor to do the surgery that took medicaid. Finally after searching and searching a doctor did the surgery and never billed me or the insurance a penny. It was my gift I guess and to this day I still remember the look on his face when he heard that no one would accept my medicaid. He didn't except medicaid at all so he did it for FREE. Gayle (Where do you live, maybe a medicaid type program can help you?)
