deformed rib cage?

Post by carron »

I noticed the other day when I was giving Thomas a rub down how his rib cage is indented were his arm stays down ageist it. I showed the therapist today and she thought it was from his arm staying down all the time he has no shoulder movement.” never has" he is 11 months, I was just wondering if any one else had this problem and if there is any thing I could do to help. His ribs also flare out on the bottom on that left side? Any advice would be welcomed.......

Matthew rib cage was higher on the right side for a while due to phrenic nerve damage. It mostly corrected itself but I could still tell for a while. Then after surgery you could notice the difference again. I would check with your bpi doc.

Gabrielle's ribcage always looked lopsided. It was very concave on her BPI side (rt). It finally started to look even in the past month or so. She is 23 months now. She is doing so much more with her right side now that maybe it just needed to catch up. She also just started walking last month and used only her left arm to crawl (scoot). That may explain the difference.
