sweaty affected arm?

Post by admin »

When I work out, I notice my injured arm sweats a whole lot more than my other arm. It will be dripping when my other arm is barely sweating. During a cycle class once, I even had someon ask if I had poured water on that arm. I just think it's kind of funny. Anyone else notice major sweat with their affected arm?

Staci, I am TBPI but my injured arm sweats a TON more than my good side! It is REALLY GROSS~ I did this past summer get boton injections in my arm pit and my palm. It was GREAT! I did not enjoy getting the shots but it was worth it in the end. In the winter I Do not mind but in the summer, liughter colored shirts, tanks, I will sweat to my waist! I am going to do it again this coming summer... it lasts about 3 months!!

Wow, am I glad to hear that this is a normal issue for BPI persons! I have noticed that my injured arm requires a more frequent dose of deodorant than my other arm. I had always attributed it to the fact that I have almost no range of motion in my shoulder, which allows very little air to get there, but now I know that I'm just part of the crowd! :-)

I don't have the SAME problem, but I have a similar problem. I am LOBPI. I developed overuse problems in my right arm -- bursitis and arthritis in my shoulder. As a result of this, it's too painful to sleep on my right side. I cannot sleep on my back or stomach, so I sleep on my left side. My left arm does not staighten at the elbow. I sweat in my sleep at this elbow, which then develops an itchy rash. Does anyone else have this problem? Short of frequent washing and powdering, does anyone have any solutions?

Thanks,
Joanie
