Happy Thanksgiving

Post by rachelcasa »

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I would like to give thanks to all my friends I met on this website who have helped me out through my injury, finding information and still being friends. Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.
Location: New York

Thanks to everyone on this site. I just found out about it a few weeks ago and love it. It's so nice to know there are others out there that have experienced and still do experience similar things. I'm sad I missed the big convention I've heard a few mention... I guess it was last month? I sure hope I can go to the next one. Meanwhile, I am scheduled for the Mod Quad surgery in January with Dr. Nath. I'm counting down the days. I'm excited to see what functions I'll gain.
