Brandon's Surgery Monday

Post by PeggyF »

Brandon,

we're wishing you all the best for your surgery on Monday!

I'm going to try to get over there to see you before you are released, but if I can't make it (it's because I'll have no one to watch my kids) PLEASE post or have your mom give me a call and let me know how it went.

I wish I could make it over there on Monday to keep her company.

All the best!

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: I am ROBPI, global injury, Horner's Syndrome. No surgery but PT started at 2 weeks old under the direction of New York Hospital. I wore a brace 24/7 for the first 11 months of my life. I've never let my injury be used as an excuse not to do something. I've approach all things, in life, as a challenge. I approach anything new wondering if I can do it. I tried so many things I might never have tried, if I were not obpi. Being OBPI has made me strong, creative, more determined and persistent. I believe that being obpi has given me a very strong sense of humor and compassion for others.

I talked with Tina (Brandon's mom) while I was cooking dinner (about an hour or so ago). Brandon came through the surgery fine. The surgeon cleaned up some scar tissue, etc. on the brachial plexus and says that the nerves are growing back! I'm excited about this, but Brandon wants more answers and was waiting to talk to the doc himself.
It's VERY cold out and Tina had to go outside of the hospital to use the cell phone, so we didn't talk for very long. I was kicking myslef for not getting a phone number for the hospital room (I'm not really even sure which hospital it is in Seattle he is in), but I hope to hear from her again or figure out which one Brandon is at.
