Feeling overwhelmed!

Post by NancyP »

Ugh! Just when you think you are doing ok for a while, something seems to smack you in the face! Kelsey is having her Caps surgery April 8th. We are in the midst of making travel plans and just got the news Monday that her surgery was approved by the insurance. That made us really happy! We have hotel reservations, and we are leaving on the 6th.

Then, my son, not obpi, had his 3 year old check up yesterday. Everything was going great, then his doctor turns to me and tells me that he hears a heart murmur! He called it a soft murmur, and told me to wait while he checked his x-ray (that was taken when he had pneumonia a month ago). He came back and said that his heart shape and size checked out fine, and that if he had difficulty breathing, excessive sweatiness, or turns BLUE, to call him immediately. I have since done research to make my self feel better about the whole thing, but I just feel like we overcome one thing after another. If it is not related to Kelsey's BPI, Austin is anemic, or insurance sends a new bill for something that you expected them to pay for.

I know we all feel like this at times, guess it is just my turn. It really makes me want to scream! Then I feel badly for thinking this is hard on me, when my daughter struggles everyday to accomplish simple tasks, and my son struggles to stay healthy when his immune system doesn't work as well because of his anemia. When we decided to have children, I just expected no problems. Naive I guess. I would never give up one moment of my children's lives, don't get me wrong. They are happy and loving and wonderful!!!! I just wish they didn't have these issues to deal with.

Ugh! You have a lot on your plate right now!!! It's SO difficult to see your children go through stuff like this. Good luck to you...hope your daughter's surgery goes well and I also hope your son is alright!

One of my sons also has a heart murmur...We went to the UA and had all the tests and they said it was an innocent murmur....I hope your son's turns out to be the same!
