I am posting as anonymous, because I know what happens if you are not a cheerleader for Dr.Nath on these boards. My child has been to see Dr. Nath two times. And I was not really moved by him. He told us nothing spectacular, seemed rushed and overall not very personable. It seemed to all of us(my family) that he was trying to push an operation that wasn't needed. He also didn't want to hear any of our childs history. This was at two separate visits. Maybe I am too sensitive, but I have spoken with a few others that feel the same way. I am so tempted not to post this, but please all of you understand that I am not trying to insult Dr. Nath at all. Just giving a personal and different opinion. We all have to make choices for our children concerning operations, and doctors. We just didn't choose Dr.Nath. I have seen in person some of what he has done, and I don't doubt for one minute that he is a brilliant doctor and surgeon.

All the experience's I've read here and have had e-mailed to me all talk about Dr.Nath & Dr.Kozin and they are all positive. The only thind is most of the children are young ie newborn to 5 and well my daughter who has LOBPI is 8 does that make a differance. We live in Toronto Canada but let it be known I will travel to the moon if I have to. Thanks to all of you for you help. I am a single mom just trying to take care of both my kids and try to give them both the same opertuities..

have you heard of Dr.Karen Pape...she is not a BPI specialist but she works with BPI kids in Toronto and developes a plan of action for them. She has had success with older kids. I would get in contact with her since she is there.

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate your input and it was truely a mistake about the spelling of his name. I was really interested and I am goin got to see him in November. I also just want the best for my little girl like everyone else, not to insult anyone.

I do think that the age of the child makes a big difference to answer 'Momof2girls' question. My daughter was almost 9 when we saw Dr Nath and he basically ignored her and just looked at her, twisted her arms around and she'd say "owe" or "that hurts!" and he didn't seem to care, said nothing while she was being twisted and she kept telling him that he was hurting her, he ignored that, and to me she was a project to him. He seemed annoyed when she spoke. My child has feelings too and I left there feeling that he was very rude. She did not like him at all and that does make a big difference in who you might choose. Britt is a happy kid and never really has any bad feelings towards anyone - but she did towards him. I do think that Dr Nath is a good doctor and has done so much for so many kids though. I also feel though that if you do not feel comfortable with the doctor it would be extremely hard to hand your child over to them no matter how good you think they are - there are plenty more good ones out there! Personally I think you need to have that bond between the child, parents and doctor - especially with an older child.

Each and every time that we have seen Dr. Nath, he has taken as much time as needed with us. We have never felt rushed. He has always been very nice, polite and caring. He always includes my child and has never ignored him. He answers e-mails no matter how many you write, and is extremely compassionate. He is so caring after surgery and feels for the children who are in pain. He worked very hard for my child to get appropriate pain relief. I have nothing negative to say about him in all the times that we have seen him. He has treated us like family. That is the side of Dr. Nath that I think most people know. Good luck with your decision.

We had a similar experience to Christy. It is difficult because there are various experiences out there and we cannot rely on message boards to obtain accurate information or experiences with all the doctors. What we can share is also limited in this type of environment.

I have sent an e-mail to Dr.Karen Page, I'm just waithing for a response. I want to thank all of you, I am not basing any decision on what one or two people say but it's good having input from others. In the pass I've felt some Dr's have just passed on my daugter and me because I'm a single mom and I've gotten e-mail stating other single mom's feel the same way and that's truly sad. But I will not rest until I'm satisfied that there is nothing left to do, and yes me and my daughter have talked about it and she wants me to continue to look around and ask questions. She knows that there is nothing I wouldn't do for her or her little brother.
