A reminder from them that the arm that is affected will sunburn VERY easily it seems. George reported how his affected arm just got severely sunburned. Jenny reported that it only takes a few minutes. Kathleen reported that her affected arm does not sweat.

Just thought I'd post this in here cuz at least in my neck of the woods - springtime is (kinda) here. (well not yet, but soon!!)

Thanks for posting this Francine! I don't think I have ever observed this in Colleen. But then again I am pretty religious about slathering on the Sunblock, lol.

Currently here in the Chicago area we just had more snow fall. I am so ready for warm weather!

Hi All

The same subject is posted on the OBPI/adult board too.

I have Horner's and the right side of my face burns faster too... but I cannot feel it... Since I did not know I had no feeling on that side I always wondered why I burned so badly on the right side....

Since I have always been this way I did not realize that this was not normal... duh... I thought I was normal... now you all know better... LOL..

Happy 45 sunscreen and keep growing those Aloe plants.... for sunburn relief...

Michaela has Horner's Syndrome and also her LBPI arm does not sweat. It gets red so fast. We're in Florida so I have to watch her closely. In 2-3 minutes her arm and pectoral area are beet red like sunburn but the rest of her will be fine. Bring her in and cool her off ,it goes away. If she's out too long ,yes that side will burn faster. Thank God for air conditioning.Ours runs year round! LeeAnne

Blake's affected arm gets red fast,too but not sunburn so much because it goes away if he cools off. When other people see it, they think he is sunburnt and I feel like they are thinking what an awful mother I am to let my little one sunburn like that. I try to explain that it will go away after he cools off. Thank you Francine for posting this, I often wondered...
