NE Picnic - Ken Levine - Help!!
<r> I was just wondering if Ken could post all the deatils of the June 14th event at the Boston Children's museum. I am especially interested in hotels and if Ken has set up any special rates. I have sent Ken a few e-mails and didn't get any response. I send the e-mails to "<EMAIL email="KLevine@ann...

Re: New England Picnic
I am also interested in coming with my family (4 of us) to this "picnic". I believe Ken Levine was going to provide info about special room rates at nearby hotels. Does anyone have any info?
Thanks in advance!

Ken,
thanks for setting this event up. I need to check at home, but I really want to try to make it.

<t>Guest,<br/> it's my understanding that there are two components to a malpractice suit. One for economic damages and one for emotional damages.<br/> The current cap craziness only pertains to the emotional damages (at least at this time!!!). California implemented a crap (oops! cap) of $250,000 ba...

Re: Settling out of court.
<t>FYI, <br/> Several weeks ago I attended an open pulic hearing in the Connecticut State Legislative Offices to discuss putting a cap on the "pain and suffering" portion of malpractice settlements. As part of the discussions, it was mentioned that (these are approx numbers) 360 malpractice suits we...

<r>Terri,<br/> <br/> I think it's two years and you can file for a 6-month extension if needed. Please send me an e-mail (click on my name). I can give you more info. Here's some info I can share with everyone.<br/> <br/> We also didn't know where to go. We waited 6 months, then found one firm. They...

<r>Roy,<br/> please post your message on the general board ASAP. Many more people read that board and I'm sure you'll get a much better and quicker response.<br/> Here's the good news: you found the UBPN site. It took me a few years before I got plugged in.<br/> You have many different topics in you...

Re: Need Help!!!! $250,000 Cap on Lawsuits!!!!
<t>Paul,<br/> from what I can tell, the patient contingent is much less represented and organized than the Insurance Companies, Hospitals, and Docs. I found out (after the hearing) that one group, the CT State Medical Society, has a web site that explains the legislative process with respect to "ope...

Hi guest,
can you add more to your comment. When was it implemented? Why was it implemented? Is it working? What's your angle? Are you a plaintiff in a malpractice suit? Are you a doctor/lawyer/Ins person?
Thanks,
Bob
