Re: Ella is complaining of pain....I don't know why!
<t>Is she going through a growth spurt? I was told that 5 years old is a huge growth spurt and at this time they may complain of pain and also lose a little function. My daughter turned 5 in November and she is complaining of growing pains now in her legs and her arm is not as flexible now as it was...

Re: Spider bite on bp arm
<t>My daughter just got two spider bites on her legs. I realize that it is not the same as the BPI arm. I did take her to the pediatrician and they did confirm that they were spider bites. She broke out in a rash and had a fever for two weeks. I did take her back to the doctor about a week after she...

Re: learning to reading
<t>I am a teacher for 3-6 year olds. So there are preschoolers and Kindergardeners in my class. How old is your daughter? Age makes a big difference. The letter reversal thing is normal when a child starts to learn how to read. You can e-mail me with any questions if you would like.<br/> <br/> Thank...

Re: Has anyone won the stretching battle?
I would say ROM is very important but also any kind of weight bearing is very important for the shoulder muscles, the winging scapula, and also for bone growth.

<t>Krista,<br/> <br/> I have also heard that e-stim helps. We tried when Hannah was younger around 2.5. It didn't work for us then. We have been told we could try it again and would help with the winging. I don't want to put Hannah through that again if I don't have to. She is a very determined 3.5 ...

<t>Congratulations on the new movement. I have to agree with everyone here. Every little bit of movement counts towards a better recovery. <br/> <br/> The cookie test is a great test. We used the dum dum lollipops instead. That was Hananh's first taste of one around 4 monhs. She was so happy to tast...

<t>We also worked on this with Hannah in therapy when she was little. She is now 3. We don't work on this anymore. When we were working on it she was definetly slower on her injured side to get that arm out in front of her. Now when she falls both arms go out at the same time. Sometimes, though the ...

Re: Frustrated !!!!
<t>Our daughter had C5&C6 injury. We had primary at 6 months and MQ at 11.5 months. It was a slow recovery for us. We really didn't see any improvement until after about 6-7 months post MQ. She really didn't use her bicep muscle the correct way until she was around 2 years old. She is three now....
