Re: need someone to talk to.
Maybe you should try the Duragesic Patch first. It is morphine, you replace the patch every 3 days.

Re: Gracilis Muscle Transfer
Gianni has always had good hand function. He was affected with C5, C6, and some of C7. He did have 9 nerve grafts done almost three years ago. He still can't bend at the elbow, so we will be trying the muscle transfer sugery for elbow flextion.

Re: ...just like my fiance'
<t>Gianni is probably going to have a muscle transfer in the fall. He will be seeing Dr. Wolfe from the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. He said he would take the muscle from the lower arm and transplant it to the upper arm to give Gianni elbow flexion. He said that Gianni would be in a ca...

Has anyone had this devise surgically implanted? Gianni's pain management doctor has suggested that Gianni try this and maybe reduce his need for all of the pain meds he is on.

Re: My sons given up
<t>Thank you Liz,<br/> <br/> I feel better after you said that you too did not want to talk to people in the beginning. Gianni is two and a half years post accident. What was the turning point that let you open up? Do you have any suggestions for me to help him open up?<br/> <br/> Maureen aka Gianni...
