Humeral Osteotomy
Hello, I'm freaking out over this one. I only know it's not cut by the growth plate, they will use a splint, not a cast and the bone will be re-attached with a metal plate. But, if the arm is turned, why wouldn't the bend point outward? I'm worried about pain. The last surgery was surprisingly almos...

Re: lung issues
We just did an UTS, which can show the diaphragm moving. I asked about the floroscopy after reading this post. The radiology doc said it uses large amounts of radiation, so best not done if possible. Who knows?... Just sharing our experience.

It is so very helpful. <br/> <br/> There are a few more questions that I'm wondering now... Will this affect lung development? Or even the surrounding chest area develpment? Ar...

injured diaphragm
<t>It is looking like my daughter's phrenic nerve was injured, which controls the diaphragm muscle. The phrenic nerve is apparantly next to the brachial plexus. So far we have been told she has a 'paralyzed diaphragm' on the same side as her injury. Anyone else been through this? We are going to see...

Re: childcare assistance
Mare, thanks for your response. Hannah isn't eligible for SS b/c of what we made last year. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter that I've been on disability since last April and that she's disabled.

Re: childcare assistance
<t>In response to what my original plans were... We found a great lady with daycare at her house for @ $150/week for 12 hour days. She only feeds the babys from scratch; no pre-made stuff. However, there is no way she has the time for all of Hannah's exercises, etc. I've contacted other daycare plac...

childcare assistance
<t>Ok. I'm sure we're all in the same boat with all the therapy time, appointments and various machines taking up the majority of our day. I have to go back to work very soon (full-time is 80 hours/week!!...I can only reduce it a little.), and childcare for a 5 month old with special needs appears v...
