Re: Self esteem post,......Wow.
I've been a bit behind on the recent posts, so I was hoping someone could help catch me up. What post struck a nerve? Was it just written about having a BPI or did some one get on here and bash on us? When I was younger, I was made fun of because my arm hung funny. I was called lopsided, cripple, an...

Teens!
I've noticed a lot of teens are starting to post on this forum, which is awesome! I was 18 before I had met any one else that had a BPI, and when I finally did, they were all younger kids. I had an unforgettable and life changing experience with these BPI kids, and it has definitely made me want to ...

Re: Coping with Palsy as a teen
I'm almost 20 and I know how you feel. I recommend finding something you are good at, and focus on that. Whether it is art, music, writing, etc, focus on that. Find friends that have the same interests as you! I was a runner in high school because that was the only sport that didn't require full mov...

Re: how did your parents deal with your injury?
Thank you, Carolyn! I hope I didn't come off sounding like I was bragging about my parents! I truly do know how lucky I am for them, and I am so grateful for everything they did over the years! And I give them credit for so much of my personal success with dealing with my arm, because I would not ha...

Re: how did your parents deal with your injury?
I received my injury from a traumatic birth. During the entire delivery, my mom said she knew something was wrong. When the doctor held me up, my right arm was floppy and unresponsive. My parents were young, just starting a family, and they had no idea what to do. They knew there was something wrong...

Re: Unusual sensations
I have not heard about TOS, but now that you've brought it to my attention, I'm going to look into it more. Thanks for the suggestion! Since I'm in school right now, I do not think I'll be able to make it to the UBPN camp. I read all the info on it and it looks like it would be such a neat experienc...

Unusual sensations
Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum and I am so excited to get involved! My name is Caitlin and I'm a 19 year old college student. I was born with a BPI to my right arm, and my story is probably similar to most of yours. I was in and out of PT and OT starting at the age of two. I've never had any surg...
