Re: ulnar nerve injury from stretched bp

Yep, I crushed my ulnar nerve at my left elbow, so had no wrist or finger extension. Took a year to get functionality back and a further year to regain strength. Interestingly, my fingers have a greater ROM now than do the undamaged RHS ones - haven't found any use for this enhancement though

Re: Approaching 6months Texas Help please

At the approximate 5 month post-injury stage, isn't your doctor quite pleased with your progress so far?

I'm assuming that the movement you have at the moment is recovered since your injury.

Re: Reflexes?

Just wondering if anyone has noticed if the reflexes in their good hands have improved. There's been couple of times that I've caught something I've dropped or stopped something from tipping over and I'm like, "Wow, I can't believe I got that." It makes sense that my good hand would becom...

Re: ANY NEW SUCCESS STORIES?

Yes, me! but my injury was a relatively simple crushed radial and ulnar nerve. From memory, I started to see some improvement at about the 4-5 month stage when my triceps started to return. My wrist came back to me after about 11 months and 2 months after that my fingers returned. Obviously, it all ...

Re: Lifting arm on back only

If it's any use to you, I like Humboldmntbkr, had a cycling accident which resulted in crushed radial and ulnar nerves. The radial nerve was damaged during my shoulder dislocation and the ulnar nerve was crushed at the elbow. I had no triceps, forearm extension, wrist, fingers etc, but my biceps and...

Re: EMG refused...to hide something???

Look on the bright side, your recovery should be reasonably rapid following your corrective surgery. But, your frustration is easily understandable - best of luck with it all.

Re: question

I was told to use my arm / hand as much as possible at all times regardless of how ineffective or inefficient it was. The reason was to keep the right synapses firing after the injury and to avoid having your brain forget how to do things. I was also told to keep manipulating my fingers and wrist wi...

Re: Hey Everyone

That sounds like very good news to me, especially so soon after your surgery. On my initial assessment, my consultant he thought he could detect something in my triceps and scored me as a 1 out of 5 I think. A few months later I could lift my previously dead arm above my head. My problem was a relat...

Re: Hey Everyone

Hi I managed to compress/stretch/crush C7-C8 during a shoulder dislocation on July 4th last year. I know that there are people here with great knowledge on the anatomical side of things, but unfortunately I am not one of them, so all I can tell you about are my personal observations. Whether they ar...
