Re: Does anyone run longer distances on a regular basis...

<t>Traci, <br/> I also have this problem, and the pain is pretty bad. It makes sense that it comes from poor posture/mechanics, but I feel like there's more to it than that. My arm also has poor circulation and ends up being a splotchy looking mess around the deltoid. I wonder if that also has somet...

Re: Curious mom

<t>Your daughter's situation sounds very similar to mine. Most people don't notice my injury unless I tell them about it - (or if they attend a yoga class with me!) I think one of my arm's is definitely a little bit shorter than the other, but I'm the only one who knows that. My own mother didn't ev...

Re: It's on my heart!

<t>Jennifer,<br/> I have a ROBPI, and I have had similar experiences as your son. I think that he's a fairly normal stage in his life with this injury. When we're younger, we don't notice differences as much, they don't seem to matter. However, later on, we're all trying to figure out who we are and...

Re: Does anyone else have awkward moments?

<t>I never get manicures anymore, and I completely forgot why until my boyfriend's mother took me out to get a manicure over Christmas. It was so uncomfortable, and I smudged the heck out of it-- but it could have been worse. Over Christmas I survived a manicure and family photos, both of which suck...

Re: Small Obstacles

The YMCA, the Macarena, the chicken dance. I hate all of them. People used to try to drag me on the dance floor at weddings, and I swear this is the only crap they play. Concerts and roller-coasters are some other great moments.

Re: BPI and pain- lashing out

<t>I still get frustrated sometimes. I feel like I have a shorter fuse than I did as a child. For me, having a BPI just made me more reluctant to try anything. I didn't do things that I wasn't good at, and now I wish I had done them anyway. I tried volleyball for a while in junior high, but it was r...

Re: funny fingers

<t>I frequently have twitches in my BPI arm. I didn't really start noticing it until a year or so ago. Maybe it was happening and I just couldn't feel it. Temperature doesn't usually bother me too much, but my circulation in my BPI arm is pretty bad. It's really obvious after I have been running or ...

Re: Small Obstacles

<t>I wish I had taught myself how to do some more things left-handed, rather than struggling to do them right handed. I can use a mouse right handed, but I kind of suck at it, and maybe it would have been easier for me to have learned it left handed. I never used left handed scissors. The few ones t...

Hey everyone. My name is Maureen. I'm from Iowa, and I'm ROBPI. I don't believe I have Horner's.

Re: Hanging

<t>I agree with everyone else who has said, "Talk to your doctors." I am a ROBRI, and I grew up without any specialists telling me what I should and shouldn't do.. So I never knew that monkey bars might not be such a good idea. Granted, I wasn't very good at them. I always had to swing my left arm f...
