differences in splinting
<t>I know that different doctors splint in different positions after muscle release/transfer surgeries, but what I am really wondering is if anyone knows why TCH doesn't splint after the mod quad when the child is still completely unconscious. I have heard that the splinting process the next day can...

Re: Mayo in Rochester, MN
<t>An orthopaedic that we know on a personal level says that is exactly where he would take his child if he had this injury. I think they are very experienced and good. There is an awesome seminar on BPI's coming up there for doctors and therapists, not sure if it is open to parents. I think it woul...

Re: Closure?
<t>After I posted the other day I found myself thinking and hoping that my words didn't come across the wrong way. I was just having one of those days and tired of hearing about the girl who didn't make the dance team and has this injury, or the one that lives a few hours away that is struggling in ...

Re: Closure? (warning: long)
<t>When I read your post I related so much that I almost thought I wrote it myself. I KNOW that settling our case will not bring closure. I am certain of that. I know it will close one stressful chapter, but the book will continue to be written. This is a life long injury and journey, and as for a m...

Big thanks from me too! Going through all this is so hard, and finding the time to gather resources and information can be impossible. Thank you so very much for taking the time and sharing with all of us.

Re: Right handed / left handed?
We are both right handed and our daughter (no bpi) is left handed. Both my parents were right handed and my husbands as well, although he has a sibling who is left handed. I don't think that kind of assumption is accurate at all! What a joke!

Re: Has anyone's child had the bicep lengthning surgery and /or the pec release
<t>I have been researching the heck out of this surgery, at least all that I am able to. Most doctors will not touch it unless it is over 30 degrees and most BPI doctors agree that it does not interfere at all on a functional level until after 30 degrees. Some doctors say you will have some residual...
