Thanks Claudia. It's good to hear first-hand from another parent.

Pain, co-contraction and Botox
I could really use some advice... My daughter Emma is 9 now and has recently started having pain in her affected shoulder and arm (inside elbow mostly). She has good ROM, but cannot straighten her arm completely and is somewhat internally rotated. She continues to have regular PT to help lessen the ...

McMaster Children's Hospital BPI Clinic - Dr. Bain
Hi,
My daughter has been seeing Dr. Bain in Hamilton, Ontario. We just received a letter stating that his clinic has been closed. Does anyone know what happened?
Thanks!
Sarah

Re: Law suits - Canada
<t>Hi Bonnie - I can't answer your questions about lawsuits specifically in Canada, but there are some other things to consider besides just medical expenses. For example, your child may have a permanent disability because of her injury. I know that's difficult to hear - I still have a hard time acc...

Re: chiropractic care for BPIs?
I'm so glad to hear from someone else who has tried the Activator technique! My chiropractor tells me it's much more accurate. I'm really hoping it will help her. Emma had her 2nd adjustment today, and slept through it

Re: TCH in March
<t>I noticed you mentioned airfare to travel to TCH. Northwest Airlines has a program for parents and children who need to travel for medical treatments. They will provide free tickets for the child and one parent - they use donated air miles to cover the tickets. My mother saw an article about the ...

Re: Early Intervention
<r>My daughter has been working with the early intervention program in Ohio ("Help Me Grow") since she was a couple of weeks old. She sees an OT and a PT that are great. Another one of the therapists also taught me infant massage. I've found them to be very kind and helpful. <br/> <br/> When Emma wa...

Re: chiropractic care for BPIs?
<t>Hi Francine - thanks for the response. It's helpful to find other people who are dealing with the same issues. I feel like I've spent the past 2 months running around like crazy. I've been learning and doing everything I can to help Emma, plus I also have an 18-month old son who keeps me busy. It...

Re: Does daily physio hurt?
<t>My 7-week-old daughter has Erb's Palsy in her right arm. For the past 6 weeks, I have been doing ROM exercises with her 3 times a day, plus infant massage once a day. She also goes to PT/OT twice a week. The OT does the same exercises that I do, and the PT does some extra stretches. She has shown...

Re: chiropractic care for BPIs?
<r>Thanks to Stacy and Cindy for their input. I accessed the message boards last night for the first time, so I'm just getting started. What a great resource! I suspect I'll be spending a lot of time here.<br/> <br/> Emma had her first adjustment yesterday with my chiropractor. We're going to try 2 ...
