Re: Dr. Kozin/Scapula
Yes, Dr. Nath and Dr. Shenaq told us the same thing about Ruthie's scapula. Nancy

Wall Street Journal article
Hi All,
There is an article about support groups for people affected by medical error. It is on page D1 of the WSJ (5/30/07). I am not bright enough to link it to this post, but it is interesting.

Re: Getting cold feet on the Gracilis transfer...
Sue,
I don't know anything about this surgery, but I have a lot of sympathy for the "decision process". It is so difficult to know what is best. Even with all the available information, it feels like a huge leap of faith.
All the best to you and Dustin.

Re: Ruthie's osteotomy
<t>Thanks for your nice posts and good wishes for Ruthie. We switched pain meds on day 3 and -thank goodness- she stopped feeling so sick. <br/> <br/> I think the arm pain is improving, too. I can tell by the way she moves and sleeps that she is not guarding it quite so much. <br/> <br/> Had a half ...

You should see the x-ray ...<br/> <br/> We won't really see the change until she begins PT in about 2 weeks.<br/> <br/> The pain is pretty bad and the me...

Re: cheerleading question
<t>Hi Mica,<br/> <br/> Ruth will gain some supination and external rotation with this surgery. She will lose some internal rotation. The doctors with whom we have consulted feel that over the course of her life she will need the motion she gains more than what she will lose. And hopefully, reduce th...

Re: cheerleading question
<t>My daughter, Ruthie, just finished a week of clinics in preparation for cheerleading tryouts. She had been on the sophomore squad and captain of the JV squad. But, during the week, several coaches kept pointing out her not-quite-straight arm and her elbow that won't stay tucked into her side. She...
