UBPN on Facebook?
Does anyone know if UBPN has a FaceBook site? I did a search for it today and could not find anything related to UBPN. I thought maybe I could get my teenage son to engage in some discussions or help support some of the younger kids if it was Facebook related!

Re: Dr Nath top doctor?
I have very mixed feelings when I read this. I still think Dr. Nath is a good doctor and good at what he does so on that topic I would not hesitate having him perform surgery (my son had Triangle Tilt done with him in 2009 as well as work done for shoulder dislocation). Several years earlier we felt...

Re: Triangle Tilt
<t>Hi Tiffany.....My son, Tyler (ROBPI) is one of the "older" kids who has had TT surgery. I totally understand your anxiety about making the right decision. We went through the same thing. Tyler was like your daughter, at age 9, he didn't seem so bad and was pretty much able to do what he wanted to...

Re: Arm/shoulder fatigue during band
<t>Francine, I didn't mean to give the wrong impression. Pat is right....they did not force Tyler to play the mellophone. His option was to sit on the sideline and play the French Horn. Being the teenager that he is, it was more important for him to be part of the marching band, than what instrument...

Re: Arm/shoulder fatigue during band
<t>Thank you Pat & Francine for your suggestions! Tyler normally plays the French Horn which is a left handed instrument that sits in his lap...but as Freshmen the school requires them to take marching band for one semester and the French horn players have to switch to the mellophone. He has men...

Arm/shoulder fatigue during band
<t>We were wondering if anyone else has kids in band or marching band who have/had trouble with arm fatigue in their BPI arm? Our son Tyler (ROBPI) is 14 1/2 and plays the mellophone (large horn) in marching band and is having a lot of arm & shoulder fatigue from holding the instrument up for ex...

Re: football and brachial plexus injury
<t>Hi Football Mom......we have had more than one doctor tell us that contact sports like football & rugby probably aren't a good idea. The kids born with BPI may not have normal shoulder socket formation which makes dislocations more likely to happen....this was the case with our son who is now...

Re: Dr. Nath
<r>Hi! Welcome to the message boards! Believe me when I say that there isn't a parent on here who hasn't felt the same way you do and knows just how scared and protective you are feeling right now. Our son is 14 years old and has ROBPI...just had the triangle tilt done last January with Dr. Nath. We...

Re: Malpractice?
<r>Hi Pat....welcome to the message boards! This site is proabably one of the most valuable tools you can have access to as far as information & support regarding brachial plexus injuries. We have a 14 year old son born with Erbs Palsy and also live in MO. As someone else mentioned, each child v...
