Re: Tooth decay and oxygen deprivation
<t> Thanks, I checked this out, too! Michaela didn't have a tooth in her head till she was 14 months old, and all the cavities. I never got any answers, but now this makes sense. Though she wasn't a premmie, her injuries were so severe. Now I feel like I need to find a better dentist for her and take...

Tooth decay and oxygen deprivation
<r> I called Michaela's pediatric dentist today and she confirmed the earlier post. The condition is called enamel hypoplasia she said. Then I found this article and found it to be very interesting since Michaela was not premature but it took them 20 minutes to resuscitate her and she was intubated ...

Re: TES and pain?
<t>I am an advocate for TES. My daughter is 5 1/2 and has used it since she was 25 months old.We saw more recovery after we started the TES and continued to do so even without formal therapy for 2 years. I excercised her at home and used the TES at night. The settings are adjustable and if it hurts ...

Re: Welcome to Holland
<t>I am very touched by this and can totally relate. Our experiences are different than other parents. Also, though every parent could probably relate to this. Italy is how you dream your life will be with children, the perfect family image in your mind, and Holland is when reality sets in and it is...

Re: smaller arm
<t>I think also the appearance of the shortness is exaggerated by the position of the arm. Michaela's is 1 1/2 inches shorter than the right but doesn't look nearly as bad since her surgery. She's not internally rotated so I gues it hangs better. You can see both of her arms from the back now wherea...

Re: tooth decay and oxygen deprivation
<t>I have never heard this before but it would explain alot about Michaela's teeth. She breast fed for 11 months and never slept with a bottle and had bad cavities in her front teeth. The pediatric dentist didn't believe me and then blamed it on drinking through a straw. By age 2 she had a strip crow...

Re: Hairy Arm on BPI side?
<t>This is so wierd!!! While Michaela was in her splint I kept thinking her elbow was dirty and scrubbed it but it wouldn't come clean. She is blond and hairy all over but it's like a fine down. Then I realized it wasn't dirt but long black hairs growing and covering her whole elbow. The only place sh...

Re: Product for scars to reduce keloiding, etc.
<t>I also tried the Band aid brand for scars and it worked really well and stayed in place but Michaela had a reaction to patch or whatever makes it stick to the skin. It's not really an adhesive because it sticks with pressure. Michaela is sensitive to adhesives so it makes it hard to find stuff th...

Re: Car Seat Option for Traveling parents...
This is more like a foam and cloth restraint that has a 5 point harness and hooks up to the existing seat belts in ANY car. It's not a hard seat and it folds up neatly to fit in any bag. It';s not something you would want to use permanently but for travel it would be super and is still safe.
