Sidney's Update

<t>Well we are now almost one month out from the Botox injections. Sidney doesn't use her arm as much anymore, but that was to be expected. Her contracture isn't as loose as we would like either. So far, and I can't speak for my husband, but I'm a little disappointed, but only time will tell. We mee...

Re: Parents are victomised too.

<t>She will never know what you have gone through and the heartache you have felt as you watch her sleep at night or while she plays. She will never know the torment you have felt when trying to make the "right" decisions for her care, always wondering is it enough or necessary. She won't care if yo...

Re: childcare assistance

<t>In Florida we have something called Children's Medical Services, a state run program that assists children with special medical needs. One of these services is called PPEC. It's a daycare program for children who require medical assistance throughout the day, including OT/PT. Most of Children's M...

Another mountain conquered

<t>My husband and I had our depositions today in Sidney's lawsuit. Our attorney said we did very well. Mine lasted 2 hours and George's lasted about 30 minutes. I was lucky because in the field I'm in I have to testify frequently, not only in depositions, but also at trials. To all of you out there ...

Re: Good luck to this woman

<t>I agree with one of the posters who said that the courts will put other criminals away but allow doctors to continue to be incompetent. It kills me. I am a social worker and work with abused children. I can say without any doubt (and experience in the matter) that if I had done this (brachial ple...

Re: 8 month old not crawling

Sidney didn't crawl until she was 11 months old and she kept her hand in a fist the whole time. She walked at 13 months and hasn't stopped since. Don't fret about the crawling too much. It is a milestone that you think she will be missing out on, but she'll compensate, I promise.

Re: Bad days

<t>Thank you all for your responses, including the couch trick, I plan to try in just a minute. I'm accepting the roller coaster, just getting sick on the ride. I love my daughter and have the best intentions to make her strong, like Amy. I can only hope I do a good job. Thanks for being there guys,...

Bad days

<t>Sometimes the bad days start to outnumber the good. I try to remain positive and happy for our daughter, but lately, it's becoming more difficult. Sidney had her nerve graft surgery in March and we were extremely hopeful when we began to see improvement in April and May. However, her scapula is w...

Re: Arm length differences?

Mica, Sidney is now a year old and I noticed a difference at 10 months of age. Her right arm is shorter than the other. I haven't measured the difference, probably because I don't really want to know.
