<r><I><s>[i]</s>"There never was a time when a major social problem was solved by beating a child. And there never will be such a time... <r>"We have to live to make our lives happier and better. By making our babies arms better, we take that risk and that chance. It IS worth it." <br/> <br/> I totally, whole heartedly agree with this; BUT... let's take calculated risks when it comes to surgery. Let's get some factual data under our b...

Re: Has anyone been told they DO NOT need Triangle Tilt?
Here is the good news: from what I have read and been told, this procedure is helpful until the age of twelve. I am going to sit back for the next few years and see what happens. Who knows this could be a great thing, but I prefer to wait and make sure.

Re: Has anyone been told they DO NOT need Triangle Tilt?
<t>Were were told that our child did need the TT surgery; then we were told by three other very well known BPI specialists in no uncertain terms NOT to have that particular procedure done because it has not been proven successful, there have been no case studies published to prove that this is a goo...

Re: Tie up the good arm: usefull or bad
<t>I do not think this is a cruel therapy unless your child has a severe injury and cannot use the affected hand in any way. For my child, it would be considered cruel because my child cannot use the affected hand at all, the only thing he can do is "wedge" items in his fingers. For other children w...

Re: internal rotation
<t>I would call the different doctors themselves and ask what they would suggest for internal rotation. I know the Mod Quad, including a pectoral release helped my child, but the injury is so severe and there are so many muscle imbalances that the internal rotation is coming back. It is time for us ...

Re: Power Pumper
this looks cool, but can it be operated one handed? I didn't see anything in the literature about that. It looks fun, but probably would not work for my child. It is so cool that you posted it though, I bet a lot of kids will find this to be fun!

Re: Do dr Shenaq make primary surgery?
<t>The way the post is worded, I thought you were asking if Dr. Shenaq performs primary surgery. He does, the result is very different depending on the severity of child etc... there are many variables. You cannot compare these children. You would have to speak to him directly to see how it would be...

Re: No love from Texas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<t>"Doctors cannot legally do surgery if a consent wasn't signed for the specific surgery that was performed." I have heard of this before... there is another BPI mother that had the same situation... her child went in for one operation (primary I think) and when all was said and done the doctor tol...
