Re: another surgery

<t>I must say I wasn't suprised when Dr. Nath told me more surgery because we had talked about it prior to the caps in Dec. Kaylin was in pain too after her caps, but I think the older they get the harder the surgeries are- especially because they remember! I scheduled this next surgery for July and...

Re: another surgery

Thank you so much for your input! I was feeling a bit surgery happy and it is a big help to hear from other families experiencing the same things.

another surgery

<t>Kaylin had her 1st visit to TCH post capsulodesis yesterday. She has an elbow contracture- well she has always had one and her shoulder is still a bit inwardly rotated. We have another surgery scheduled to try to correct the problem. I am having a really hard time w/ this decision. I want her to ...

steri strips/capsulodesis

<t>Kaylin is now 3wks post capsulodesis. We barely got those steri strips off, with alcohol, this past weekend. Kaylin screamed like you cannot even imagine- there has to be an easier way when you cannot soak them in soapy water(since the splint can't come off at all).<br/> <br/> Kaylin is going on ...

Re: preparing for trip to tch

<t>Hi Aurora,<br/> <br/> I also met you at camp in Sept. I remember how much Mathew reminded me of Kaylin as far as the extent of his injury. I am so glad that you all decided on the Mod Quad. You will be amazed at the results! Best of luck to you all in Houston and we will keep you in our prayers.<...

Re: capsulodesis

Thanks for the pictures Francine. I am indeed exhausted! My daughter Kaylin seems to be much stronger than her mom, but I don't let her know that!

Re: capsulodesis

<t>The capsulodesis is done to put the "ball" back where the "socket" is supposed to have formed in the shoulder. Nylon stitching holds it in place and the goal is to have the socket fully form in time. My daughter's socket didn't form because she had no movement in that arm or shoulder due to the i...

capsulodesis

<t>Hi bpi family! My four year old, Kaylin, just had the capsulodesis done with Dr. Nath at TIRR. All went well, but it has been a whole different experience with the splint this time around. She had the mod quad Nov. 2000 and the recovery was a breeze. I suppose the one year in age makes a lot of d...
