Re: ACR good/bad
<t>As you know, none of the other docs perform the triangle tilt surgery. They have not been convinced of it's success rate as yet. I can't wait to see research and see how much things change after the procedure to see if it really is as great as it has been spoken of! Could be a great thing, we jus...

Re: Expecting after BPI
<t>This is an entirely personal decision, but I have to agree with one of the previous replies; ultrasounds are NOT a reliable method to determine the size of a fetus. Our last ultrasound was performed two weeks before delivery. They were off by more than FOUR pounds. That was the last time I saw my...

Re: Osteotomy v.s. Triangle Tilt...??
<t>Tony, I would send a video if that is what is needed, but I would also make sure I got a second opinion. Maybe even a third or fourth before you go with this possible surgery. I have found that it is best to really research a procedure before opting for it for my child; I know that is what you ar...

Re: Thoughts on academic work causing tiredness due to BPI?
<t>It does not sound like this is related to BPI to me. It sounds like he has not adjusted to the increased demands of preschool; I have a child (non BPI) that behaves like this whenever there is change. It is especially bad at the start of a new school year. I would just try to help him cope that b...

Re: I need info on how e-stim and constraint therapy works
<t> I think that you really must talk to your therapist and your child's other doctors about both E-stim and "Encouragement" therapy. We do e stim regularly, but for our child, restraint would be extremely cruel. Our child has so little use of the affected arm that he would not be able to do ANYTHIN...

Re: New in North Carolina
<t>This is (usually) a great place to share feelings and gather information. There are people here who are very knowledgable. There is actually a surgeon in from Texas that will be in NC this weekend. His name is Dr. Saleh Shenaq. He is truly a wonderful man and a great asset to the Brachial Plexus ...

Re: Another scar question
My son has had 2 surgeries and he has never complained about the scars. He has a lot of pain due to his particular injury, so I think that may have something to do with it. He has a very high pain tolerance.
