Re: help

<t>Hi, my daughter had nerve transfer surgery with Dr. Kozin in Dec. We are located in NC, also too far to drive. I contacted my local Shriner, who paid for the flights for the evaluations and surgery. I agree with a previous post about calling and talking to another person. Also you should call Sus...

Re: raw underarm- bpi side

<r>There is a wonderful diaper rash ointment called Paladin that works wonders for chafing, minor burns, and skin irriations. You have to ask for it at CVS or Target pharmacy, or most pharmacy, because they keep it behind the counter. You can also purchase it at <URL url="http://www.rashcream.com">w...

Re: I need surgery, but no insurance and no money

<t>Hi, how old is your brother? If he is under the age of 18, they can help. The Shriners system offers free services to children. Dr. Kozin, up in Philadelphia, does the nerve transfer surgery. My daughter had that surgery in December. Call 1-800-237-5055 for an application.<br/> <br/> AmyB<br/> <b...

Re: Reminder about some dishonest Taxi drivers

<t>Yes, I do know what you are talking about. When I went to Philadelphia in Oct. with my daughter, the taxi driver charged me $40 from the airport to the hotel. Then when I came back in December with my husband, we were charged only $23. It was to the same location both times! I didn't realize I wa...

Re: Does Shriners pay for or reimburse for travel.

<t>We live in North Carolina and our daughter just had surgery last week up in Philly. Back in November, my daughter and I went up by airplane for an evaluation. And last week, my husband, my daughter, and I went by air for her surgery. Our local Shrine, (Charlotte) took care of cost for flights and...

Re: Dr. Kozin

<t>We took our daughter, 6 months, with a LOPBI to see Dr. Kozin in Philly two weeks ago for an evaluation. We was wonderful! He was very attentive and answered our questions. His staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable. The Shriners system is very passionate about their care of our children....

<t>I'm new to this site and I've been following your story and had to send you an email. I know that this is a difficult time for you, but know you are in our thoughts and our prayers. Be strong, for your daughter. The strength we get from being parents can pull us through difficult times. My step-s...

Nerve transfer surgery vs. nerve graft surgery

<t>Now that we are back from Shriners, Scarlett will be having having surgery next month. Dr. Kozin says she needs nerve graft surgery or nerve transfer surgery. So, I'm asking parents for their personal experience/opinion on which surgery is better and why. Any information would be extremely helpfu...
